Here I will layout just what I want the direction of the blog/site to be going forward. This is just a quick meandering attempt at coming up with some foundations for the site, so bear with me. These "guideline"to what or how I post are and will reaming in-flux, at least for now--I mean it is a blog, after all.
Reviews:
- I would like for the reviews that I post to be in-depth. In-depth reviews to me does not mean that I must provide every single piece of minutia there is. That would possibly amount to a designers manual that neither you nor I would benefit from. Lets just say I like to go into detail on what I believe, from the experience I had with the game, Is important to either the enjoyment or displeasure of the game. If for any reason I leave out any detail that someone might feel is necessary--let me know right away. I will either replay the title; agree on the spot, and chalk it up to a mistake/oversight on my part; or explain to you or whomever why I felt the detail was not important--at least in my honest opinion and judgement. I want to provide readers with reviews that give them a short and differing opinion/take on a game that they will potentially purchase, look into, or just wanted to here more about.
- I hope that my reviews can take on their own consciousness, in as far as any discussions they may promote/spark. Of course, I would hope any discussions my review starts or massages stay safe and nondiscriminatory, and/or not--hurtful/infringing in nature.
- Reviews will thus be opinion pieces, with an attempt to stay neutral in their observations. Just because I may not like a genre does not mean I will attempt to discredit its merits. With that being said, for the most part games that I review--unless requested by a reader/etc.--will be for the systems that I own and of titles that I may find interesting or have access to.If, in the future, I was ever offered any kind of review copy material--yeah, how likely is that, right?nonetheless-- I would review it with the utmost sense of respect for my readers/audience, and not play favorite nor impart any intentional bias into a write-up or score.
- How the heck do I score? IDK, is that an acceptable answer? No, in all sincerity my scoring system is a work in progress. As I have just started this blog, and my journey into blogging, rather recently. So, for the most part, expect final scores that are attempting to reflect both the write-up and the feelings ,and objective observations that went into writing-up the review on the game.
Thought Pieces:
- I would also like to add thought pieces, which will comprise the other pillar of the experience here at The Vaunted Gamer.
- These will, hopefully, be enjoyable reads--I say hopefully because tastes vary. The write-ups for these will never be set into stone; as they are of varying degrees of information/topics/sizes, and are written on current or past or future trends/concepts/thoughts/ideas, etc. within and without Gaming that are in someway, shape or form, connected to gaming/video games/the games industry. So, expect these to just be fun reads that I write up on all sorts of video game "stuff".
- I do hope whoever does tune in enjoys the content that I write up. While I also note that I try to keep what I write interesting by making what I write interesting to me, this does not mean I that I do not care for the thoughts, curiosity, questions, observations, concerns, etc. by those who read what I have written. So feel free to let me know what your interests in the gaming world are. This will help me gauge what I write and also share the experience of this blog on a two-way channel.
- I will also post or share any news I feel is of interest or happen upon, onto the blog. I will give links to original authors/site(s), as well as give my short opinion on the short news when I can.
Thanks for reading. I hope this is a good intro to The Vaunted Gamer experience, which is ever growing and changing. I hope to continue posting somethings soon.
